By prioritizing equity, Generation Rise ensures that all programs and initiatives are designed not only to provide equal opportunities and even the playing field for women and girls engaged in our program, but to specifically target systemic barriers that have historically hindered female progress in society.
Agency
Agency embodies the belief that women and girls should have autonomy to make decisions and act on their own behalf. This value drives Generation Rise to create programs that empower participants not only to envision a better future for themselves but also to actively engage in shaping the future. We succeed when our graduates are confident in their right to define and pursue her own path to success and leadership.
Ownership
Ownership encourages participants to take the initiative and responsibility for their personal growth and community engagement. By promoting ownership, Generation Rise helps ensure that the impact of its programs is sustainable, with women and girls continuing to lead and innovate long after their direct involvement ends. Generation Rise uses participatory approaches to meaningfully engage its staff, facilitators, participants and graduates in our strategic decision-making as well as the implementation and evaluation of our activities, guaranteeing local ownership at every level and stage of the program cycle.
Sisterhood
Sisterhood is vital to the operational and programmatic success of Generation Rise. This value celebrates the bonds between the women and girls and supportive network of peers and mentors that transcends individual achievement to support collective empowerment. By living and teaching the principle of sisterhood, Generation Rise cultivates a collaborative environment among our staff, facilitators and participants, where women and girls uplift each other, share their knowledge and experiences and together lay the groundwork for the next generation to thrive and rise.

Excellence is what we strive for in everything we do. We believe every girl has the potential to achieve great things when she is given the right tools, support, and opportunities. We pursue excellence by setting clear goals, upholding the highest standards of program quality, and nurturing a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
